Cold Quark Sauce

  • Servings: 4-6

A fresh, light, cold sauce with new potatoes for a summer dinner.

Ingredients

  • 200 g- 300 g quark. Look how to make quark
  • 1/2 -1 glass of milk or sour cream
  • –  salt, pepper, chopped greens and/or caraway seeds

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss together quark and milk. Add milk or sour cream as much you like for suitable consistent
  2. Season
  3. Serve with boiled potatoes and with salted/marinated herring

Sausage Sauce. Vorstikaste

My generation was served  Sausage Sauce for dinner at school .

And this was one of the our favourite school lunch dish.
At school  the table was already set . Plates were on the tables and food in big bowls.

Who was quicker to run, got a bigger portion 🙂
Today, at home I do this very rarely.

I added tomato pasta, because of better picture:) but you can leave this out.  This dish is made from cooked sausage. But you can use frankfurters.

Chanterelle Sauce. Kukeseenekaste

Chanterelle Sauce with fresh and boiled new potatoes in something MUST be in the summer. Fresh mushrooms and fresh potatoes and a lot of fresh dills. This is summer.

Picking wild mushrooms means the aromas of the fields and the forest.

And in July, there are not only mushrooms. Blueberries and cowberries. Hot air. The smell of the pines. Later, in autumn, the smell of wet dead leaves. Something mysterious and captivating.

When I am writing mushrooms., I mean wild mushrooms. chanterelle, boletuses, russula.  And other Mushrooms that do not need blanching.
