
Cinnamon Rolls remind me always Astrid Lindgren books. Warm and lovely childhood summers at my Grandma…The softest, fluffiest homemade cinnamon roll ever! Loaded with cinnamon brown sugar … mmm..
This is one dish which came in Estonian cuisine from Scandinavia, but same as with all dishes, Estonian cinnamon rolls taste different as Swedish rolls.
Cinnamon Rolls
The perfect soft, fluffy cinnamon rolls
Ingredients
- 2 dl milk
- 30 g yeast
- 3 tablespoon sugar
- 1 egg
- 75 g butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 dl flour
- 3 tablespoon sugar
- cinnamon powder
- 40 g butter, melted
- 1 egg for coating buns
For filling
Directions
- All materials must be at room temperature
- Dissolve yeast with lukewarm (37C) milk and sugar
- Add about half of the quantity of flour, mixed with salt
- Beat the mixture for a short time. Sprinkle a little flour on the surface, cover the bowl with a towel and place in a warm place to rise for ca 1 hour
- Add remaining flour
- add the melted butter and the beaten egg
- Knead the dough properly, until it separates from the bowl.
- Sprinkle with a little flour , cover the bowl with a towel and place in a warm place to rise for ca 1 hour until dough is doubled in size. During rizing beat the dough 2 times back.
- Roll the dough into the ca 1 cm thick rectangle. Spread dough with melted butter, and sprinkle over with sugar and cinnamon but left ca 2 cm edge without filling.
- Coat buns with beaten egg before putting into the oven. Bate at 200C for 15 minutes . Head isu!
Roll dough to roll till clean edge. Cut in to the 2,5- 2 cm thick slices and turn clean edge under bun as bottom. Place on the greased /baking paper covered oven plate to rize ca 15 minutes.
