before potato arrived from America, ancient Estonians ate beans and peas. From old cookbooks, You can find a lot of dishes from peas and barley. Nowadays, vegetarian dishes are once again in vogue and peas and bean are ruling 😉

Broad beans are coming back on the menus. Is that what is used to make ‘mushy peas’?

I googled ( Right expression?) Mushy beans and yes, these two dishes seems to be relatives 🙂
I believe that all nations have some pea and bean dishes. They probably ate something before potatos, as well 🙂

No doubt they did eat something else prior to potatoes. I suppose potato is a nouveau cuisine foodstuff historically speaking. Funny to think of that, hey?
