Cowberry and Apple sauce

Sour and Sweet Cowberry and Apple sauce is “must be” on the Estonian Christmas table. Important additive and partner for Black Pudding and Roast Pork.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 part apples. peeled and cleaned, chopped in to slices
  • 1/3 Cowberries
  • 1/2 cup water
    • (if needed, some sugar)

Directions

  1. add water in to the pot
  2. add cowberries and apples
  3. Stir and simmer over low heat while apple is ready and soft.
  4. Put sauce in to the very clean jar and close airthight.
    5. Open jar keep in the fridge.
